About me
I’m Julie Scott, a designer, brand crafter and creative professional working in London, Surrey and Cape Town.
For over 25 years, I’ve shaped brands and the way people experience them. As a creative, I’ve come to value the power of strategy, UX and systems thinking and I’ve developed the skills to weave these into distinctive, human-centred brands that thrive in the shifting complexities of the digital world.
My work is fuelled by a lifelong obsession with the role design plays in our lives, as a tool of communication and clarity, and as a way to improve the human experience, create meaning and enable a safe space for emotional connection.
Design brings together human-centred thinking, commercial understanding, technical skill, and a fearless creative imagination. It is at this intersection that I’ve built distinctive, meaningful brands for clients, and my own micro-businesses throughout my career.
I value the impact of independent and micro-businesses, and I believe design plays a vital role in their success, from strategy to execution, helping them stay connected, authentic, and truly distinctive.
A few key projects include:
Led the implementation of Wolff Olins designed brand identity for Sage across the new design system (website and digital products)
Led the design of a new platform for the BBC iPlayer.
Led the repositioning and marketing programme for global engineering firm in their global expansion. 5 year programme.
Led national brand transformation and alignment programme for leading private healthcare group before global merger, handoff to WPP agency for global phase. Advisor on agency selection panel. 2 year programme.
Designed fintech brand and suite of 6 digital products, aligning UX & brand. 5 year programme.
Developed and implemented brand strategies, design strategies and brand identities and full packaging design and production rollout for major retail group. 75+ brands, 700+ skus across 9 countries. 5 year programme.
Repositioned a large retail chain through reinventing and transforming the in-store shopper experience to create reward and delight. 1 year programme.
Strategy lead and advisor for state owned entity national energy company including setting global tender guidelines and evaluating agencies.
